FBW Challenge #102

Today is FlutterByWednesday Challenge # 102

it is an open challenge, so that means it just needs a butterfly, angel, or fairy on the creation.

This little guy is SO sweet. He's from WinkWinkInk and I believe he's called Blossom Baby. I should know, since I purchased him, but good grief, people, I'm recovering from surgery and on hard drugs here. LOL Actually, I've only had Tylenol and Ibuprofen today. Watched 27 Dresses today FINALLY as well, I've only owned it for EVER. OH, I digress...

Blossom Baby. I colored him with Prismacolor Markers in Cream and...uh oh... Tulip yellow... WHew... I colored him a while ago so I had to look at which color I used. Then I stickled his adorable little wings with Waterfall Stickles, which made them sort of blue. So I mounted him on a blue piece of scrap paper I had, and a lovely yellow scrap of patterned paper leftover from a scrapbook project I did. I used some Bazzill Blingz brads and some yellow ribbon. I stamped the word "cherish" from SU! Baroque Motif's set in Versamark on the same blue paper the colored image is matted on, and punched it out with an oval. Then I used a ribbon punch on either end to create a place for the ribbon to thread through to make the oval a "ribbon charm". I also used my Tim Holtz paper piercer (you can also use a large sewing needle or pin on a mouse pad) to pierce the blue papers, and then drew lines between the holes for a faux stitched effect. (OK, so I'm not so great at that part, and I probably should have used white, the black is a little severe, but hey.. it's a hand made card!)

ANYWAY... here it is...

Hey!! I've been noticed :)

Check it out :)

So, last week, I participated in Flutterbywednesday's challenge for St. Patrick's day. Well, I checked back to see if I won, and I hadn't, but that's okay. What I missed was that on Saturday I was featured on their inspiration post! How great is that??

That's my card, right up there at the top! Sweet little Danni, by Elisabeth Bell. :) Fun, huh? :)

OWH sketch #9 part deux

ok, here is the second post of my card for sketch number 9. is that anything like love potion number 9? Sorry, I digress...

OWH Sketch Challenge #9

OK, here's the first card for Sketch challenge # 9:

I used a scrap of patterned paper - actually these are all scraps. Then I used this butterfly stamp on a piece of pink card stock stamped in Black Versa Fine. I colored the butterfly with Copic markers, colors R32, R37, and the colorless blender to make the striations on the wings. Then I used a Maya Road clear stamp for the sentiment. Simple, easy, cute (at least, I like it)

Looking at it, I think my black strip of CS might be adhered crooked... *sigh* dang it. OK, I did have surgery four days ago (OK, yes it was laproscopic, but it was on my tummy and I'm still on medication) so we'll overlook the crooked here. Well, maybe you won't, but I will. :) I had a great idea while I was making this one, so I'm off to do another one. :) Show ya when it's finished.

Operation Write Home

OK, if you don't know about this great organization, I suggest you get educated! :) There is SO much information that I just can't write it all here, because I'm afraid I'll forget. Click the link to the right to go to the OWH blog, and start making some cards! :)

The most important thing to me is: NO GLITTER. Did you know that glitter can make troops visible to night vision goggles? I didn't. So there are types of glitter that are okay, I guess, but I would rather not take the chance, so I don't use it.

This week it's sketch challenge # 9 Take this sketch and make a card with it, and post the link to OWH's blog. That's it. :) Stay tuned for my creation :)

Well... I'm trying

I've been trying to make sure I blog here often, but since last week was a flurry of excitement (can you call it that?) with the loss of my gall bladder, I am on the road to recovery.

May I make a suggestion? DO NOT, and I mean DO NOT! under any circumstances, try to print digital images while under the influence of a narcotic pain medication.

It doesn't work well. I promise.. LOL I won't share my embarrassing story of what I did with you, but suffice it to say that I could not think clearly, and I was also physically tired, too. My body is on the mend, ya know? And I ended up with a sheet of card stock I will be unable to use. Well, I probably can salvage it for another use...

Anyway, I am going to attempt to get back into the swing of things this week. :)

WHOO HOO!

Hagerman, here I come.

Well, if I get packed.... LOL A weekend of laughter, carb eating, staying up late, sleeping in, NO CHILDREN saying MOM, MOM, mama, MOM, mama, ma, mama, ma MAH, ma MAH (at least none that I have to answer to) and a MASSAGE!!! :) I can't WAIT!

But I better get crackin and get packin! :)

OK. Well, gotta get, but more things coming soon! :)
